The Quill Water Tanks are perfect for storing water in any location. Popular for collecting rainwater, storing stock solutions, providing clean animal drinking water and available in a wide range of sizes including 20L, 40L, 125L and 250L.

FAQ's

1) Can I connect a hose pipe to the ball valve and float?
Yes — by using a Hozelock ½” - ¾” Tap Connector.

 2) Can we automatically refill the tank?
Yes — you can order the tank with a ball valve and float, which we will fit before dispatch.

3) What fitting will I need to connect to the ball valve & float (Inlet)?
The ball valve is a ½” male fitting, so you will require one of the following:

•       Straight female threaded adaptor 20mm to ½ or

•       25mm Straight female threaded adaptor x 3/4” you will also require a Threaded Reducing Bush ¾” x ½”

•       90° elbow with female offtake 20mm or 25mm x ½”

•       To connect onto a hose pipe: Hozelock ½” - ¾” Tap Connector

If using MDPE pipe fittings, you may also require pipe liners or PTFE tape — these are also available from Quill.

4) Which side is the ball valve and float fitted?
The ball valve and float are fitted on the same side as the outlet inside the recess at the optimal height for a full tank.

5) Does a filter come with the header tank?
Yes — a filter is supplied when ordering a header tank without a ball valve and float. Unfortunately, there isn’t enough room inside the tank to fit both a filter and ball valve/float together.

6) What is the yellow part shown in the photo?
This is a ½” bung, which can be removed to allow fittings to be added for the outlet.

7) Can you see the water levels in the natural/translucent tank?
Yes — the water level is visible through the translucent tank.

8) Do you have fittings to connect 8mm pipe to the header tank?
Yes — use a Plasson 8mm Hose Tail Tank Connector (½”).

9) What fitting would you use on the (outlet)?
The outlet on the tank is ½” female thread, so you will require one of the following:

• Plasson 8mm Hose Tail Tank Connector (½”) – to fit your 8mm pipe onto
• Straight Male Threaded Adaptor 20mm OR 25mm Straight Male threaded adaptor x 3/4” you will also require a Threaded Reducing Bush ¾” x ½”
• 90° Elbow with Male Offtake 20mm or 25mm x ½”
